Statutory Warranty, Product Warranty and Guarantee

8. Statutory Warranty, Product Warranty and Guarantee

8.1. Statutory Warranty for Defective Performance

If a product sold by the KÓC BUTIK online store is defective or does not conform to the contract, the Customer may exercise their statutory warranty rights in accordance with the provisions of the Hungarian Civil Code.

At the Customer's choice, the following remedies may be requested:

  • repair of the product;
  • replacement of the product;
  • a proportionate reduction in the purchase price;
  • having the defect repaired at the Service Provider's expense;
  • withdrawal from the contract, provided that the applicable legal conditions are met.

The Service Provider may refuse to fulfil the selected remedy if it is impossible or would result in disproportionate additional costs compared to an alternative remedy.

The Customer must report any defect without undue delay after discovering it.

In the case of contracts between a consumer and a business, statutory warranty claims may be exercised within two years from the date of delivery.

8.2. Product Warranty

In the event of a defect in a movable product, the consumer may choose to exercise either their statutory warranty rights against the seller or their product warranty rights.

Under a product warranty claim, the consumer may request only the repair or replacement of the defective product.

A product is considered defective if it does not meet the quality requirements applicable at the time it was placed on the market or does not possess the characteristics specified by the manufacturer.

Product warranty claims may be exercised within two years from the date the product was placed on the market.

8.3. Guarantee

KÓC BUTIK provides a mandatory guarantee only for products for which such a guarantee is required by law.

Most clothing items and fashion accessories sold in the online store are not subject to a mandatory guarantee under applicable legislation. However, Customers are always entitled to statutory warranty rights and, where the applicable legal conditions are met, product warranty rights.

If a particular product is covered by a guarantee, its duration and conditions will be specified on the product page or in the accompanying guarantee documentation.

8.4. Defective Performance

The following circumstances, in particular, are not considered product defects:

  • natural wear and tear resulting from normal use;
  • damage caused by improper washing, drying or ironing;
  • damage resulting from use other than the product's intended purpose;
  • mechanical damage;
  • defects caused by improper cleaning or repair.

The Customer must follow the product's care instructions and washing guidelines.
